Six months covers a fixed-term hire, a maternity cover or a project with a defined end. For a business it is long enough to be worth doing properly and short enough that nobody is carrying a vehicle they have stopped needing.
We quote excluding VAT throughout. Most six month agreements go on a company account, and that is the figure those customers work to.
Six months is the settling-in stretch. Long enough that daily rental stops making sense, short enough that a two or three year lease feels like too much, too soon. Maybe you've just moved to the UK, started a new job, or you're bridging the wait on a long-term car that's still on order. A six month car lease gives you a proper car on a fixed monthly price, delivered to your door — with no long contract holding you there while you find your feet.
“Dan and Lisa made the process of leasing the car very simple. I was kept up to date regularly with progress and the car was delivered at my convenience. I wouldn't hesitate to arrange future cars with them.”
It's a short term lease: a fixed monthly price to drive a car that isn't yours to keep, for six months. It sits between daily rental — which adds up fast over half a year — and a two or three year lease you're locked into. You get a newer car and a better monthly rate than short rental, without signing your name to years.
Six months is the relocation-and-new-start window. It tends to suit people who are:
Not quite your circumstances? It probably still works — drop us a line and we'll be honest about whether it fits.
Your monthly price is set at the start and doesn't move for the full six months. Built into it: servicing and maintenance, road tax, breakdown cover, the manufacturer warranty, and free delivery and collection — with the option to swap cars if your situation shifts. Delivery and collection are free anywhere on the British mainland, Highlands excepted. The only two things left to you are insurance and fuel. Everything else is ours to sort.
One job stays with you beyond insurance and fuel: telling us when a service is due. Over six months a higher-mileage driver can reach one, so when the dashboard starts counting down, ring us. We book it at an approved service centre and pay for it — but we can’t see your mileage from here. Every other charge that can ever appear on an agreement is listed on our fees and charges page, rather than left in the small print.
You'll arrange your own insurance, and we'd rather you did. Bundling one policy for every driver would push your monthly price up for cover that might not suit you. So you take out comprehensive cover for the six months, cancel it the day the car goes back, and pay only for what you actually need. We'll spell out exactly what's required well before we deliver.
We deliver and collect free of charge, right across mainland Britain – the Highlands are the one exclusion. Order today and your car lands on your drive in around 10 to 14 days. That's not the quickest in the market, and it's meant to be that way — the extra days are what let us hand over a car that's been valeted, checked over and made properly ready to drive.
Pricing here is refreshingly boring. The monthly figure on each car defaults to Business, excluding VAT — switch to Personal and it's added for you. Filter the range by price and pick the six month lease that fits your budget and the car you actually want.
There are three costs at the start, and we'd rather show them than tuck them away: your first month's rental, a one-off £95 plus VAT documentation fee, and a fully refundable deposit that's back with you once the car's returned in good order. Those are the only costs to get started.
Your six month lease includes either 1,000 or 2,000 miles each month. Drive past that and extra miles are 40p each plus VAT, charged only on what you go over — and the rate's there in black and white before you order, not sprung on you later. Know you cover big distances? Tell us up front and we'll look at your options.
Most six month leases we do are for businesses, and it's easy to see why. For a new start-up finding its feet, a new starter on probation, or temporary cover while a role is filled, six months keeps it simple: one fixed monthly cost, no capital tied up, and the car or van goes back when the work does.
The VAT and tax treatment on a car differs from a van, so your accountant can tell you what applies — but as a clean, predictable business expense it's hard to argue with. If you'd rather talk business terms, just say and we'll walk you through it.
Lease a car or a van for six months on the same terms — from small hatchbacks to SUVs, EVs and work vans.
Whether it's one car for a new starter or a van to cover a project, it's one fixed monthly cost with no long commitment.
Yes — a 6 month car lease can be extended. If six months isn't quite enough, let us know before your term ends and we'll extend it — you keep the same car and the same terms, and nothing restarts from scratch.
Three ways to go: carry on with an extension, move to a different car, or return it. Let a customer advisor know before your six months are up and we'll arrange to collect it.
Often, yes. You'll need a UK address and a licence you can drive on here. We run the same checks as we would for any lease, so tell us where you're at and we'll be straight with you about what's possible before you go any further.
No — and on purpose. One policy covering every driver would cost you more than cover built around you. Arrange your own for the six months, cancel it when the car's returned, and you only pay for what suits you. We'll tell you what you need well ahead of delivery.
Yes — you can switch to a different car after a 6 month lease. A lot can change over six months — you might want a bigger boot, an EV, or a van in place of a car. Switch at the end of your term, or if it really can't wait, talk to us mid-term and we'll do what we can.
1,000 or 2,000 miles each month. Extra miles are 40p each (plus VAT), and only the miles over your allowance are charged. Cover a lot of ground? Let us know before you order and we'll look at your options.
Three things, all shown from the off: your first month's rental, a one-off £95 plus VAT documentation fee, and a fully refundable deposit that comes back once the car's returned in good order. That's everything due at the start.
Yes — six month leases are mostly business, in fact. Start-ups, new hires and firms bridging a gap use them for one steady monthly cost with no multi-year lock-in, handing the vehicle back when the work wraps up. Ask us about business terms.
Yes — servicing and maintenance are inside the monthly price, and we book the appointment. Over six months a driver covering real miles can reach an interval, so keep an eye on the dashboard countdown and ring us when it begins. We can’t see your mileage from here, and that call is the only part of it that’s yours.
