Every van we lease goes to a business, so this page is written on that basis — including the VAT position, which is considerably better on a van than on a car.
Van pricing excludes VAT. Vans are almost always a business purchase, and on a van used for business the VAT is generally fully recoverable — unlike a car, where recovery is normally restricted to half.
A van off the road costs you work. So does signing up for one you only need for a season. Short term van leasing solves both: a work-ready van on a fixed monthly price, for as long as the job needs and no longer. Covering a breakdown, taking on a project, or riding out a busy stretch — you choose the van and the term, we deliver it, and you hand it back when you're done.
“Dan and the team provided me with an excellent service and supported me throughout the leasing process.”
It's a business van on a short term lease — a set monthly price to run a van that stays ours, rather than a purchase or a multi-year contract. It sits between daily hire, which gets dear over weeks and months, and buying or a full lease, which ties up your cash and leaves you carrying the van's value. Put simply, it's van capacity you can switch on and off as the workload moves.
Short term van leasing is built for businesses that need to stay nimble:
Job not quite like any of those? Drop us a line and we'll tell you straight whether a short term van fits.
One fixed monthly price with the running costs built in: servicing and maintenance, road tax, breakdown cover, the manufacturer warranty, and free delivery and collection. We deliver free anywhere on mainland Britain except the Highlands, and collect on the same basis. A van that breaks down is a day's work gone, so keeping it serviced and covered is on us. What you add is insurance and fuel.
One job stays with you beyond insurance and fuel: telling us when a service is due. Vans cover miles quickly, so this matters more here than on a car — watch the dashboard countdown, ring us when it starts, and we’ll book it at an approved service centre and pay for it. A van out of warranty is an expensive van. Every other charge that can ever appear on an agreement is listed on our fees and charges page, rather than left in the small print.
Insurance you arrange yourself. A policy priced across every business would cost more than one set to yours, so you cover the van for as long as you run it and stop when it goes back. We'll tell you exactly what's required before we deliver.
We deliver and collect free, right across mainland Britain – the Highlands aside. Reckon on around 10 to 14 days from order to your yard or door — not same-day, because we hand over a van that's been checked, serviced and made ready to earn from day one.
Each van shows its monthly price plus VAT, so you can see exactly what it costs — and what you'll reclaim.
To get started there's your first month's rental up front, a one-off £95 documentation fee, and a refundable deposit, returned when the van comes back in good order. After that, it's the fixed monthly price for the term.
Vans come with a generous 2,000 miles a month as standard — double what our cars get, because a van's there to earn. Over that, it's 40p a mile (plus VAT), charged only on the miles you go over. Running big distances on a contract? Tell us up front and we'll set the allowance to match the work.
Van prices here are shown plus VAT, because nearly everyone leasing a van from us is a business. If you're VAT-registered and the contract is VAT-qualifying, you can usually reclaim the VAT on a business van — and typically on the maintenance and rental too.
It's worth a quick word with your accountant, but for many trades it takes a real slice off the true cost.
Short term with us runs from a rolling month up to eighteen, so you're never paying for van you don't need. A month for a quick gap, three or six for a project or a season, twelve or eighteen for a longer contract. And if the work changes shape, you can change van with it.
From small city vans to long-wheelbase, high-roof and crew vans, and electric vans too — whatever the job calls for.
Need several for a fleet or a project? Tell us the numbers and dates and we'll source and deliver them on one clear set of terms.
If you're VAT-registered on a VAT-qualifying contract, usually yes — you reclaim the VAT on a business van, and typically on the maintenance and rental too. Check the detail with your accountant, but for most trades it's a genuine saving.
Servicing and maintenance, road tax, breakdown cover, the manufacturer warranty, and free delivery and collection. You sort insurance and fuel; we handle the rest.
Anything from a rolling month up to eighteen. Match it to the job — a month for a gap, three or six for a project, twelve or eighteen for a longer contract — and change van if the work changes.
Talk to us before delivery. Plenty of trades want signage or racking for the job, and we'll tell you what's possible on a short term van.
2,000 a month as standard, with excess at 40p a mile (plus VAT) on the miles over your allowance. Need more for a contract? Set it higher up front and we'll price it in.
Yes — you arrange your own business cover and cancel it when the van's back, so you only ever pay for your own risk. We'll tell you exactly what's needed before delivery.
Your first month's rental, a one-off £95 documentation fee, and a refundable deposit that comes back once the van's returned in good order. After that, it's the monthly price for the term.
Yes — you can lease several vans for a fleet or project. Tell us the vans, the numbers and the dates and we'll source and deliver a fleet on one clear set of terms — capacity when you need it, handed back when you don't.
We book it and we pay for it, at an approved service centre — you tell us when it’s due. Vans reach service intervals faster than cars because they cover the miles, so this comes up more often on a van than on anything else we lease. A van running out of warranty is an expensive van, and it’s avoided by one phone call.
