Polestar’s large SUV is the one to pick when the fastback isn’t enough car — five proper seats, a big boot, and range that makes a long motorway run a non-event. It’s the family and long-distance answer in the range.
Drive Subscribe stocks the Polestar 3 on terms from one month, three, six, nine or twelve months. Road tax and servicing are included, and it arrives at your door.

Families who need the space and don’t want to run two cars. Drivers doing regular long distances who’d rather not plan their week around charging stops. Anyone moving out of a diesel SUV who wants the same practicality without the fuel bills or the emissions-zone charges. It’s a lot of car, and a subscription is the sensible way to establish whether you need that much of it before committing for years.
Five seats with genuine adult room in the back, a large load area, and the flat floor that comes from a dedicated electric platform rather than an adapted combustion one. Materials are a step up from the Polestar 2 — this is positioned as the premium car in the range and feels it. Recycled and responsibly sourced materials throughout, in keeping with the brand’s approach.
The Polestar 3 is built for distance, and the long-range versions handle a full motorway run without much planning. Because we change the models on offer regularly, the range figure for the car you’d actually take is listed on the stock page rather than here, where it would date. Real-world figures depend on weather, load and how you drive. Rapid charging covers motorway stops; a home wallbox handles the rest overnight.
Dual-motor versions are quick for a car this size, and a Performance variant pushes higher again. In normal use the point isn’t the acceleration figure — it’s that overtaking and slip roads stop requiring any thought. Specifications for the vehicles currently available are on the stock page.
Google built into the car rather than mirrored from a phone, so Maps and Assistant work natively. Polestar’s safety record and the brand’s driver-assistance suite carry across from the rest of the range, with sensors and cameras monitoring the road and intervening where needed. Worth confirming the exact assistance package on the specific cars in stock, as it varies by specification.
The Polestar 2 is a fastback — smaller, easier to park, better suited to city driving and commuting, and cheaper monthly. The Polestar 3 is the larger, more comfortable SUV for families and distance. If the 3 is more car than you need but the 2 isn’t enough, the Polestar 4 sits between them — SUV height, coupé roofline, and a camera in place of the rear window. All three are compared on our Polestar subscription hub.
A large electric SUV is a substantial purchase, and it’s the segment where technology and battery generations move fastest. On a subscription you’re never left holding the depreciation when the next version arrives. Servicing, road tax and breakdown cover sit inside one monthly payment, there’s nothing to sell at the end, and if your circumstances change you hand it back rather than find a buyer.
It’s also the honest way to test the practical questions — whether the range suits your actual routes, whether your parking allows home charging, whether you need a car this size at all. Three months of real driving answers those better than any calculation. Our guide to the benefits of an electric car subscription goes into more detail.
All figures ex VAT.
Two things worth understanding before you commit. Where a leased car is available for private use, VAT recovery on the hire charges is generally restricted to 50%. That applies to leases that itemise. We bill one monthly amount with maintenance already inside it, so there’s no second line on the invoice. Vans are treated differently again and generally allow full recovery on business use.
The mechanics are in our guide to VAT on lease cars.
This is general guidance. How the car is actually used determines the treatment — check with your accountant.

Every car is supplied from stock, which is why delivery runs to 10–14 days rather than same-day. Because the models on offer change regularly, specifications live on the stock page rather than in this article.
And if you're wondering who's behind all this: Drive Subscribe is an ACL Automotive brand — the team that runs short-term leasing for some of the biggest names in the business. The car's short-term. We're not.
