Blackpool doesn’t run on a twelve-month clock. The season builds from Easter, peaks through summer, and the Illuminations carry it through to early January — then the town exhales. Plenty of businesses and workers here follow that rhythm, and a three-year car agreement fits it badly.
A short term car lease does fit. One monthly payment, a modern car delivered to your door, handed back when the season ends or your plans change. You can take a single month, three, six or nine months, up to twelve or eighteen.
The Illuminations run from early September to early January — four months. A summer contract in hospitality or leisure might be six. An event or conference run at the Winter Gardens might be three.
Match the term to the work: three months covers a short season, six covers summer into autumn, nine takes you Easter to the switch-off. When it’s done, so is the agreement — no vehicle sitting on the yard through February costing you money.
Anyone who has kept a vehicle on the Fylde coast knows what the sea air does to it. Salt accelerates corrosion on arches, sills and brake components, and it shows up in resale values as much as in MOT advisories. Buy a car here and you carry that. Lease one short-term and you don’t — the vehicle goes back, and what it’s worth afterwards isn’t your problem. Servicing and maintenance sit with us for the duration.
Whether you searched for car leasing in Blackpool, monthly car rental, car subscription or short term car hire, the product underneath is the same: a car for a set number of months on one payment. The only real decision is the length.
Across Blackpool and the wider Fylde coast — North Shore, South Shore, Bispham, Marton, Layton, and out to Cleveleys, Thornton, Poulton-le-Fylde, Fleetwood, Lytham St Annes and Kirkham. Home or workplace, whichever suits. The car arrives cleaned and ready, so there’s no depot visit. When you’re finished, one call and we collect it.
One payment, and this is what sits inside it: the car, servicing and maintenance, road tax, MOT, breakdown cover, and delivery to you with collection when you’re done. Insurance, fuel or charging are yours, and your first payment includes a refundable damage deposit alongside the first month. There’s a mileage allowance on every term. Exceed it and you’ll pay 65p a mile plus VAT on 1 and 3 month agreements, or 40p plus VAT on the longer ones.Allowances start at 1,000 miles a month on shorter terms and 833 a month from twelve months up — higher bands can be chosen when you book.
Seasonal and hospitality businesses. People arriving for the season need a car for the season. Nine months of work shouldn’t mean thirty-six months of finance.
NHS and agency staff. Blackpool Teaching Hospitals is one of the area’s largest employers, and locum, bank and agency placements run to fixed periods. The car can match the placement.
Businesses that scale with the calendar. Leisure, catering, events and trades all flex hard between season and off-season. Add vehicles when trade demands it, drop them when it doesn’t — cars and work vans both.
People between cars. Waiting on a delivery, dealing with a write-off, or testing whether you need a car at all in a town with a tram running the length of the promenade. A month or three bridges it.
Three things worth comparing before you book
We deliver in 10–14 days. Quicker than a factory order by months, slower than a rental desk by a fortnight. The car is prepped and valeted before it travels, and it arrives at your Blackpool address rather than you collecting it. For a car you need tomorrow, use a hire firm — we’re not pretending otherwise.
You arrange your own insurance. Some subscription services fold it into the monthly figure. That looks tidier and generally costs more, because a blanket policy can’t price your individual history. Sorting your own almost always comes out lower, and you cancel it when the car goes back.
The season doesn’t change the price. Blackpool businesses are used to everything from accommodation to staffing costing more between Easter and the illuminations. Our monthly figure is fixed when you sign it, and it stays fixed whether you start in February or July.
Promenade traffic and terraced-street parking reward something compact; the M55 and the run to Preston or Manchester reward something comfortable on a motorway. Our range covers both — city cars, saloons, SUVs and 4x4s, all new or near-new. Electric options are worth a look if your mileage is mostly local and you can charge at base.
Every figure here is ex VAT, since that’s the number a VAT-registered business works to.
On recovery: expect to reclaim 50% of the VAT on the hire charges where the car can be used privately. Some providers invoice maintenance on its own line, which changes what’s recoverable. We don’t — it’s inside the monthly figure. If a van would do the job, the treatment is more generous still.

Most people mean the same thing by it. A rental is priced by the day and billed by the month; ours is a short term lease — a new or near-new car delivered to you, with servicing, road tax and breakdown cover inside the monthly figure and a term you set at the start. If monthly car rental in Blackpool is what you searched for, this is the version that works out cheaper past a fortnight.
Yes — car subscription and short term car leasing are two names for what we do — subscription usually describing the shortest, most flexible terms, leasing the longer ones. The car, the inclusions and the exit are identical either way.
Yes — that’s what these terms are for. Pick the length that matches the work and hand it back at the end. No penalty for the agreement simply finishing.
No — and be wary of anyone advertising otherwise. You’ll pay a refundable damage deposit at the same time as your first month. It’s security against cancelling early, missing a payment or damaging the car — and it comes back when the car does. Providers promising nothing upfront have usually built it into the monthly figure.
Yes — we credit check every Blackpool car lease agreement. Providers who skip the check normally offset the risk with a bigger deposit or a higher monthly payment, so the money reappears elsewhere. Judge an offer on its total cost, not the headline monthly.
Daily rental is priced by the day and gets expensive fast. A subscription is priced by the month — cheaper per day, a newer car, delivered to you rather than collected from a desk. Most people searching for long-term car rental in Blackpool want this instead.
Yes, across the Fylde coast and the surrounding area. Tell us the address when you book and we’ll confirm.
Yes — on shorter terms you can switch car at the end of each period, and there are longer terms if things settle. Tell us early — changing during a term is almost always cheaper than absorbing charges at the end of one.
Flexibility and lower risk, particularly where income is seasonal or contract-based. You get a modern car without gambling thousands on a purchase, and you can step away when circumstances change. There’s a fuller comparison in leasing versus buying, and subscription versus lease sets out how the two differ.
Yes, both — we lease to businesses and private customers alike. On the business side that means sole traders through to PLCs, ex-VAT pricing, and underwriting against the company rather than the individual. Fleet terms can be staggered rather than aligned.
It shouldn’t — seasonal income won’t stop you leasing a car. Plenty of Blackpool’s economy works that way and we’re used to it. What matters is that the monthly figure is comfortable across the term, not that the income arrives evenly. Getting a lease car without a job explains the evidence side.
And if you're wondering who's behind all this: Drive Subscribe is an ACL Automotive brand — the team that runs short-term leasing for some of the biggest names in the business. The car's short-term. We're not.
